For veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces & the RCMP

You got out and it followed you home.

The stress, the anger, the drinking, uncertainty, the loss, confusion, the no sleep, the outbursts, the diligence, and maybe even the paranoia.   Yet even with all of that, it can feel like nobody gets you. We do.

Veterans with mental health issues get psychotherapy free once they're approved by VAC. Find out today whether you're approved — and if you're not, we'll walk you step-by-step to get approved within one business day.

What you might be carrying

You don't need a tour to have been damaged by this.

A lot of veterans hold back because someone else had it worse — the guy who did three tours, the member who took the round. So the training accident at Wainwright, the harassment nobody actioned, the postings that cost you every friendship, the years of nights in a two-member detachment, the medical release you didn't ask for: all filed under "not bad enough" and left to rot. It doesn't stay filed. It shows up as insomnia, a short fuse, a marriage running on fumes and a quiet conviction that you're the problem.

Army, navy, air force. RCMP general duty, federal policing, highway patrol. Regular, reserve, class B, civilian member. Cpl or CWO, MCpl or Staff Sergeant. Afghanistan, Bosnia, Op LENTUS, or never left Canada — if service changed how you live, that's enough to be here.

For veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP approved for psychotherapy through VAC. Not approved yet? Send your details and you'll get help navigating it.

You still sit facing the door

Back to the wall in the food court. Scanning the parking lot at Canadian Tire. Sleeping in ninety-minute pieces the way you did on rotation or on nights. Your body learned a standard in uniform and nobody ever signed it off duty.

The calls and the tasks you can't unsee

For some it's a convoy, an IED, a body recovery. For others it's a sudden death on a rural highway, a domestic you couldn't fix, a fatal at a level crossing, a search that ended the wrong way. Trauma doesn't care whether it happened overseas or twenty minutes from your own house.

The temper your family navigates

Zero to furious over a spilled drink, then sitting in the truck afterwards wondering who you've become. Your partner reads your face before you say a word. The kids have learned which nights to stay upstairs.

Who you are without the rank slide

Out-clearance, red serge in a garment bag, a 3B release you never asked for. The team is gone, the standard is gone, the pace is gone. Civilian work feels like a hobby and nobody at the new job speaks the language.

The orders, the file, the thing that still sits wrong

What you did, what you couldn't do, what the chain of command or the detachment did to you. Moral injury and betrayal by the institution aren't guilt you can argue your way out of, and they don't respond to being ignored.

The drinking, the numbing, the distance

The bottle after shift, the screen until 2am, the speed on the highway. Things that work brilliantly right up until they don't. We look at what they're doing for you before anyone talks about taking them away.

General inquiries

Not ready to book? Ask one question.

Plenty of veterans want to know one thing before they commit to anything — whether their coverage holds, whether groups exist, whether this is even the right kind of help. Ask it. You'll get a real answer from us, usually within one business day, and nothing else will happen unless you ask for it.

Or book straight in — the consult is free and takes about thirty seconds to schedule.

Send us a question

One question is a perfectly good first step. Write as little or as much as you want — it comes straight to us and you'll get a real answer, usually within one business day.

Sorting the admin out first

Check your VAC coverage with your K number.

Cost shouldn't be what stops you, and neither should paperwork. Your K number is the client number Veterans Affairs Canada issues you — it's on VAC correspondence and in My VAC Account. Send it and your psychotherapy coverage through VAC / Medavie Blue Cross gets confirmed before your first session, with direct billing if you're eligible. If you're not covered, you'll hear that plainly and we'll talk about the alternatives.

Check your VAC coverage

Share your K number and we'll confirm with VAC / Medavie Blue Cross whether your psychotherapy sessions are covered — usually within one business day — so the paperwork is settled before your first session.

Your information is sent privately to us and used only to verify coverage. Nothing is shared with third parties beyond VAC/Medavie billing.

Group therapy

Some of this is easier in a room of people who already get it.

Small, closed groups of CAF and RCMP veterans — PTSD and operational stress, release and transition, moral injury, anger, and family support. Groups form as demand builds. Add your name and you'll hear first.

How it starts

Three steps, no ambush.

01

Book a consult, or just ask a question

Pick a time on the calendar, or send one question and get a straight answer by email. No form marathon, no commitment, no cost. This is the whole first step.

02

Talk to us

Every conversation starts with our founder and lead clinician. A short call — phone or video — to say what's going on and hear the path most likely to work. No assessment battery.

03

Coverage sorted, then the work

Your K number gets checked with VAC / Medavie Blue Cross so billing is handled before session one — and if you're not approved yet, you get help navigating it. Then one-to-one, group, or both: trauma-focused CBT, EMDR-informed processing, EFT, IFS and DBT skills.

Want the full briefing before you commit to anything — what the first session covers, what a normal session looks like, how long it takes and how you'll know it's working?

Common questions

Before you reach out.

Who is eligible to work with you?
Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces and the RCMP who have been approved for psychotherapy through Veterans Affairs Canada. Approval is verified with your K number before you start.
What if I haven't been approved by VAC yet?
Reach out anyway. Plenty of veterans are mid-application or haven't started one. Tell me where you are and I'll help you navigate what's needed to get psychotherapy approved, rather than leaving you to work it out alone.
I'm RCMP, not CAF. Is this for me too?
Yes. RCMP veterans are covered here on the same footing as CAF veterans, and VAC administers RCMP health benefits. Depot, general duty in a small detachment, federal policing, highway patrol, major crime, the files that stayed with you and the way the organization handled you afterwards — all of it is on the table.
I never deployed. Do I belong here?
Yes. Training injuries, harassment and sexual misconduct, a corrosive chain of command, constant postings and separations, and a medical release you didn't ask for all leave marks. You do not need a tour to have been damaged by service.
Is this really covered by VAC?
For veterans with approved VAC mental health benefits, psychotherapy is billed directly to Medavie Blue Cross with no out-of-pocket cost. Send your K number and coverage is verified before you book a session.
Where do you see veterans?
Anywhere in Canada by secure video, including remote postings and rural communities. In-person sessions are available in Toronto.
Does this go on my file or affect my career?
Sessions are private and confidential. Nothing goes to your unit, your detachment, your CO or an employer. Coverage administration with VAC and Medavie is limited to billing information.
Who will I actually be talking to?
A Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #12096) with over ten years of experience — our founder and lead clinician. Every conversation begins there: he assesses what's happening and defines the path most likely to work for you.

You've done harder things than making this call.

One short call, free, and no obligation. Ask your questions there — or send one through first if you'd rather.
